Sports
Middle school participation in GHA’s Athletic Program represents an important part of school life. The GHA Wolves compete against schools of similar size and skill through the Metro Atlanta Athletic Conference (MAAC). Teams are fielded in basketball, soccer, volleyball, track and field, baseball, golf and tennis.
Participation on GHA athletic teams is geared to foster a strong sense of self confidence, teamwork, cooperation, sportsmanship, physical skills, socialization and work ethic. It helps prepare students physically and mentally for life after middle school.
Our philosophy is to balance playing time for each child who makes the team and foster a healthy sense of competition and sportsmanship. GHA offers an A and B team to encourage as much participation as possible for the maximum number of students.
The GHA Wolves have historically dominated in all sports in the MAAC league. Girls’ volleyball holds a sporting record of 125 wins and 18 losses over the last 6 years. The GHA B volleyball team was undefeated this year. In soccer, both girls and boys teams, A and B, took either 1st or 2nd place in the last 2 years. GHA took 2nd place in Golf last year and has held its own competitively in the other sports.
The GHA family supports spectator participation through its booster club. All students and their parents are encouraged to attend after school sporting events and to show their support for our student athletes.
