Responsive Classroom and Developmental Design
This year, GHA introduced the Responsive Classroom Approach in our teaching methods in kindergarten through 8th grades. This is an approach to teaching and learning that fosters safe, challenging and joyful classrooms. Responsive Teaching is based on the premise that children learn best when they have both academic and social-emotional skills. Developed by classroom teachers, it consists of practical strategies for bringing together social and academic learning throughout the school day. The Responsive Classroom Approach helps create learning environments where children thrive academically, socially and emotionally. The goal is to enable optimal student learning and our teachers have implemented these practices in their daily teaching.
