In Parsha, students learn the name of each week’s parsha and its context (i.e., the verse from which the parsha derives its name) and the names of all the parshiot in their proper order in each book of the Torah. At the beginning of each week, students are given a series of grade appropriate questions on the parsha to answer as homework and complete by Thursday.
All instruction is text-based, that is, we teach “peshuto shel mikra.” To the extent that Midrash is used, it is always be linked to text.

The Chaggim curriculum is designed to help students learn about the Jewish holidays – their rituals, laws and customs – using a text-based approach which focuses on selected rituals and halakhot of each holiday. Students in 4th grade will learn about each of the major chaggim on the Jewish calendar.

Support Services are available for both General and Jewish studies.
